Frequently asked questions

Answers about email verification, catch-all detection, API access, and pricing.

What does verifying catch-all emails mean?+

This is a huge advantage over other services! Catch-All email servers have purposely been configured to bypass SMTP based validation (how most validation tools work). That's why they are called "catch-all", they simply catch all SMTP "handshakes" and will NOT give you a Valid or Invalid signal. We validate on average 50% of catch-alls which most people have typically thrown away, but these emails have the highest value in that most people aren't emailing them!

How fast can you verify emails (including catch-alls)?+

Our proprietary email verification system validates all emails (including catch-alls) in real-time. Our API can handle up to 10 request per second.

What kind of results can I expect?+

You can expect a 98% accuracy on Enrichley detecting hard bounces. So, you can get your hard bounces under 2%. We can not eliminate soft bounces. Soft bounces depend on your list, sender score, domain reputation, and content.

Why can't my SMTP verification tool validate the risky emails like Enrichley?+

Catch-All emails servers have on purpose been configured to bypass SMTP based validation. That's why they are called catch-all, they simply catch all SMTP handshakes and will NOT give you a Valid or Invalid signal.

Is a catch-all email the same thing as a risky email?+

Yes, most SMTP-based email validation tools will classify them as Catch-All or Accept-All as opposed to Valid and Invalid. Most data providers will either say Risky or Guessed or assign a low confidence email validation score (under 90%) to them as opposed to Verified.

What is a soft bounce versus a hard bounce?+

You will get hard bounces for email addresses that do NOT exist or are wrong. You will get soft bounces, for when the servers are off-line, or the mail servers or spam filters don't like your sender score, domain reputation, or content.

Do you have API documentation?+

Yes, you can find the API key within the platform and the API docs here: https://docs.enrichley.io

Do you offer credit rollover?+

Yes we do! All unused credits will rollover each month. The only caveat is if you cancel your subscription then all unused credits will be removed at the end of your billing cycle.
